Lowering health care costs

On March 11th, Illinois PIRG successfully passed HB 5865 out of Committee in an 11-0 vote! The bill requires health insurance companies to report how much of each dollar they make goes toward actual care, and how much is used for profit or administrative costs.

This unanimous victory allows the bill to move on to a vote by the House of Representatives.
